Abstract:
The first release in a complete Shostakovich cycle, recorded by Deutsche Grammophon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and its newly appointed director, Andris Nelsons. Nelsons is one of the last conductors of his generation who grew up in the Soviet musical tradition, having studied in St. Petersburg with Alexander Titov and Mariss Jansons.
