Abstract:
In 1893, illustrator and naturalist Ernest Thompson Seton journeyed to New Mexico to kill a wolf that had been marauding human inhabitants. Later he would question the merits of this action and his account of the adventure would capture the American imagination, serving as a catalyst for the wildlife conservation movement in the U.S.
