A poor but talented Kashmiri boy Noor, is hired as a stable-keeper by Begum, the wealthiest woman in town. Young Noor falls in love with Begum's beautiful daughter, Firdaus, although she belongs to a world completely different from his. Noor leaves his hometown and moves to Delhi to build his career as an artist. The film follows Noor's story, through love lost and realized over the course of two generations.
