White Bim Black Ear is a 1976 Soviet drama film directed by Stanislav Rostotsky. The film is based upon the book of the same name, written by Gavriil Troyepolsky. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 51st Academy Awards. This is a touching story about a hunting dog, faithfully devoted to his master, an elderly writer. He lives alone and has no one in the world but his loyal Bim. After Ivan Ivanovich is taken to hospital, the dog is moved from one house to another, to live in the families of strangers.
