Fired from his job as sheriff, Cotton Pickens, after a flashy, fleshy stage company comes to town, a man gets stabbed to death and a bank gets robbed, discovers that someone is trying to take over Doubtful and, badge or no badge, takes a stand against a killer and some self-righteous fatheads.
