Abstract:
A contemporary production of Siegfried, in which Wotan is a schizoid CEO, Mime an über-oaf, Fafner a giant bogeyman and Siegfried himself a thuggish young killer. The latent comedy in the heroic couple's union is revealed as an unrelieved failure to communicate.
