Abstract:
A cautionary tale about sex, technology, and public shaming set in a Nicaraguan town, Florence Jaugey’s THE NAKED SCREEN is a thought-provoking portrait of young people growing up in an increasingly complicated digital age. Octavio, the son of a poor family, and Alex, the son of a wealthy family in northern Nicaragua, are best friends. Octavio’s fascination with Alex turns into an obsession, and he is quick to sideline anyone that gets between them. When Alex finds himself a romantic interest, Octavio sets out to destroy their love story by spreading a film of Alex and his partner, Esperanza, making love. From that moment on, nothing will be the same.
