Abstract:
A group of young immigrants in Israel is trying to win the International Breakdance Championship. The intense competition is primary focus of their lives, but as we watch them practice and rehearse we enter a world of crisis and alienation. Mixer, 27, is supporting his young family and trying to help his younger brother and sister, who still live with their alcoholic mom. Potter, 21, is in the army now; he still dreams of dancing, but has no one to help him care for his mother, who struggles with mental illness. Originally from the former Soviet Union the crew has won many amount of competitions in Israel and around the world. They also help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, using dance and hip hop to overcome their harsh reality with the help of dance and music. Despite their hardships, these bold and talented dancers stick together and confront reality head-on. Desperation is a luxury that they cannot afford.
