Companion to Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer which shifts the scene from France to his life in the United States, covering his life in Brooklyn in the 1920s. This fictional autobiography explores the author's New York boyhood and adolescence, and his sexual awakening and adventures. Miller also gives a fictionalised account of his time as company spy and personnel manager for the "Cosmodemonic Telegraph Company", raging at the social evils of the American free enterprise twenties.
