Abstract:
"The jungles of Madagascar are the only place on earth where ring-tailed lemurs still roam free. The Nature film team follows four mothers as they care for infants that are in a critical stage of development. Drought, disease, predators and natural selection threaten the young lemurs. A lemur's tale relates the bittersweet tale of baby ring-tailed lemurs, including an unusual, rarely ever seen, near-albino infant named "Sapphire, " learning to survive in their treetop homes. Some leap exuberantly into adulthood. Others, including "Sapphire, " cannot overcome group exclusion and the dangers that wait in the forest"--Container.
